June 10

today is my birfday and what a great day to start it off than to drive over to bellingham airport, jump into the plane to my final destination...VEGAS...i know, i know..VEGAS again...hey, i LOVE this city and i could go there if i want cause its my PARTY...lol..

i went with a couple of my good friends..we drank, we ate good food, we danced the nite away, we gambled, we sat by the pool

OC visits

my best friend from OC arrived in BC to visit family and close friends..to welcome her and the familiy plus her family here in Vancouver, we decided to throw them a BBQ..my expression when i first saw my ina-anak was..OMG, she is sooo BIG now..i was glad they were able to come and visit me and also to see the house for the first time..well, the OC Almero's will be here for sometime and i know i will be seeing her more during her stay here..maybe even a pdei and mani..what do u say marn?

HOT HOT HOT

the weather in VanCity has been great..it has been 14 days of NO rain and just nice HOT sunny weather..i really hope it stays like this for the rest of the summer..

My absence

i do apologize for not updating my blog. Been really busy with work and all. Nothing much has happened since my last post.

First I'd like to wish everyone a Happy Easter. I can imagine all you people who gave up chocolates for lent. You must be going crazy nibbling away.

I have been OFF work since Friday and am still OFF from work. I totally needed this long weekend to relax.

Yesterday, I was lounging around in front of my TV at about 1:30 pm. I heard a door slam and looked outside to find some man closing my car door. It was a thief. OMG, i ran outside to find him walking in the lane way looking at other vehicles so i shouted out 'HEY'..he than merged to a walk way which leads to the other side of the street. I ran back inside cause it was pouring rain and woke up Al and we both drove around the neighborhood to find this bastard. We did not find him. So I emailed our block watch captain and explained to her what happened. She had forwarded my email to the RCMP and to the other members of our block watch community. I can still remember how he looks like.

The thing that pissed us off more was that he broke our rosary which was hanging from our mirror visor and not so much of taking our loose change. Why would he do that? Bastard!

BEGGAS

OFF i went to the SIN of all Cities..Vegas..a place i truly love going...to laugh, to drink, to mingle and watever..thursday night i left from Bellingham airport where fares were as low as $28 oneway..where can you ever get a price like that.

met with friends as i arrived and stayed at the Venetian hotel..right in the middle of the strip..played some craps and a couple of slots

drinking began as i got on the plane..than it happened..arrived and hit the bars and clubs..TAO, V Bar, LAVO and others.

Next trip to SIN City, next month..anyone care to join...

1 year from today

surprise

so last February 4th was the Da Boss' birthday (Al)..i had sent out texts, emails and FB notices for his SURPRISE birthday. I was contemplating of going out downtown to do it but if I did that than he would know there was something going on so instead I had it at home. To make it even more tricky for him to find out I did it on a Friday night (Feb. 6th). So I catered the food and a friend of ours Mel Los made his chocolate cake..so after work I drove everywhere to pick everything up and made it home just in time to set everything together. People started arriving, which I was surprised that everyone showed up on time or at least at a decent time. I had asked one of his friend to take him out for a couple of hours..and guess where they went..CASINO! That was a great place to bring him actually. At around 8pm i had text his friend that we were ready and to come to the back entrance...lights turned OFF and everyone getting ready to say 'SURPRISE'

The evening turned out good other than I ran out of specific food and ending up ordering some pizza. BTW, this is the last i throw him something. He's getting to old to have surprises!

My TOUCH

so Almero bought me an IPOD Touch for Xmas. One day when i was using my 'touch' and i go to turn it OFF, a white blank screen came on. I tried to turn it off but nothing happened. So i waited till next day and everything went back to normal. Couple of days ago, i experienced the same thing but this time it just shut down on me and when i tried to turn it back ON, it wouldn't. So i decided to call APPLE and explained to them what was happening. They told me if i tried troubleshooting the device. Basically troubleshooting is to hold on to the on/off button and the other button on the screen at the same time. BAM! it worked. I then asked her why it does that and she basically told me its a mechanical problem and it happens once in a while...BULLSHIT! I am going to APLE to exchange it for a F*ckin NEW one.

HP

so i have been bugging my boss to get me a laptop for work and he keeps delaying his purchase of one...Last week, i have been having some problems with my desktop and he saw i was getting frustrated..i was swearing, throwing all my papers around and at the end told me that I will get a new computer on Monday..

i role in Monday morning and enter my office to see that i still have my old desktop sitting on my desk..i sit there staring at it and he came to my office and told me he purchased a NEW laptop for me..my eyes just widened and said "thank you". I asked him if it was my MAC but he said No an HP one so i said "cool"...so my NEW laptop arrives this Friday..can't wait!

But i am still gonna purchase a MAC laptop..Almero hogs my MAC desktop all the time!

AGM

every year my work goes to these fishing trips and one of them is the AGM (annual general meeting) fishing trip in Queen Charlotte. Its for 4 days with a bunch of guys and few girls. So, i am giving it alot of thought to going this year. This place is a plane ride there and back so before i get stranded in an island with my only way of transport is a plane, i've decided to do some research by asking questions to some of the guys that have been to this trip before and asking them what's it like...

"there are bears"...(not fond of that)

"lots of fishing"...(that i can do)

"plenty of drinking"...(i can definitely do that)

"no way out"...(hmmm...)

Back in November, my gurls & I heading to LA..We visited LA Ink where i bought a shirt and sweaters..shopped on Melrose where we went CRAZY on the shopping of shoes..Ate at Roscos chicken and Waffles, a chinese restaurant and STK where we saw the Osborne's daughter. Drinking and Dancing at many clubs such as Kress and this other place which was full of fuckin' asians..i hate going to places where everyone is ASIAN..anyways, our overall trip was awesome and we are planning yet another vacay together but someplace different..maybe someplace on the East Coast..

Holidays OVER

So now that the holidays are over, its back to work I go on Monday.  I have been off work for 2 weeks and had somewhat a good relaxing 2 weeks except for the part where I had to shovel.  As for some people, I was never snowed in so that was a good thing.  I was able to drive around since my car has new tires and of course coming from back East, I'm an expert driver in this snow.

I was able to drive to the malls and of course to downtown for some scheduled dinners.  The roads were actually great cause everyone was at home not wanting to drive..

I've now taken down ALL christmas decor and packed it up for yet another year to come.

The house is back to normal and now I can begin yet my project that I have been delaying and that is my basement bathroom.  It's time to get cracking!

Resolutions

My resolutions this year and every year after...I'm hoping that the hubby follows my footsteps and we can help each other with this whole process..

1) QUIT smoking for good!
2) Complete the renos in the house 
3) Be fit...meaning work out to get my 6 pack
4) Eat healthy

So the hubby had decided we wager on this resolution of ours.  Start date January 3rd, 2009 and End date is June 3rd, 2009.  First of all the bet is to LOSE weight.

If he wins, he gets to buy a NEW truck his choice and I have to help him with payments but if I win, I get to buy my car and he helps me with the payments to my new vehicle.  Loser does not get anything other than to keep driving the Jetta...Wooohooo!  I better start looking for my car cause I know I am going to WIN!

I will keep you posted on our progress as the months go by.  We will take pictures of before and after shots for judging day!

DIM SUM

On New Year's Day I woke up to find majority of the guests passed out everywhere in the house. So as they slowly woke up we all headed for our New Year's tradition and have DIM SUM at our regular place in Langley. We stuffed our bellies and came back to our place to play some Cranium. Over all, our New Year's was a success.

Goodbye 2008

With all of the snow we have been getting, our group of friends were not able to decide as to who was going to open their home this year to kick off 2009..since our nieghbourhood was drivable and parkable we have decided to HOST this year and so we did.

On behalf of all of us we wish you and yours a Prosperous New Year...

As another year passes, we lift our glasses and toast to the memories that now become classics!

Gifts for XMAS

So this year the hubby shopped early and placed it under the little white tree that i don't want to ever get rid of. I on the other hand, did not even buy his gift until 2 days before Christmas. I already knew what I was going to buy but just been busy with work that I didn't have the time to get it.

So this year Al bought me:

POOH slippers
BOSE speakers
Waffle maker

And I bought him:

Tiger Woods PS3 game
Jacket (MIP..missing in picture)
Ferreo Roche chocolates (his favorite and does not like to share)

We had a great Christmas this year and I know we will have an even better one next year!

Christmas 2008

This year I had wanted to spend my holidays with my family back home but with the fares sooo expensive, I am stuck in boring BC.

Christmas this year was VERY quiet...I wanted a change this year...soooo on the Eve, I stayed home while the hubby visited his dad. On Christmas Day we attended mass, visited his mom at the cemetary then dropped by his sisters place for a weeee bit. We than had dinner at Brent and Josephine's place. DE-LISH food and played Cranium!

On Boxing Day we heading to Langley to our DIM SUM place. Than headed to the Copon's for an afternoon of watching on his NEW 52" TV.

Christmas this year and every year has never been the same for me ever since my dad passed away. And to top it all off, my family lives on the other side of Canada..I wished I was home..I miss my family..I promise myself that every year will be about spending it with my siblings and mom.

MOMs 60th

It was my moms 60th birthday last October and what better way to celebrate than to head over to VEGAS..and so we did. 

Since we have great friends, The Tang's have graciously provided their condo in Vegas for our accomodations. And let me tell you that their condo was absolutely stunning. Its like a show home. I had planned all the restaurants to go to but guess what? All they wanted to eat was filipino food..soooo, we ate at Jolly B, Goldilocks and Red Ribbon. It was good but too much for me. We did eat at a buffet on her actually birthday so that was a change.

On one of our days there we ventured out to Hoover Dam and old Las Vegas.

By the end of the week, I was exhausted that all I needed was to rest and go home to my bed.
