ALMERO'S NEW YEARS BASH

well, its that time once again and we hosted the new years with friends at our home. everyone brought a little sumtin' sumtin' and plenty of alcohol. we ate & drank..ate & drank...and then drank, drank drank...there were poker tournaments and then there was karaoke...then the countdown was on..the girls started to fill the wine glasses chanpagne & fruit cocktail...16 glasses to fill! Overall, we had an awesome celebration. Some of our guests stayed over night and we all made breakfast to start off our new year...crepes, waffles, sausages & omlette...hmmmm, delicious!

Pre New Year's Celebration

celebrated friday night with friends...it was a night to remember...we started off at Granville Room drinking bottles of Don Perion and all the other drinks and shots that was thrown to us...Afterwards, we walked across the street to "Republic" and we just danced the night away...Thanks Mr. Tang for the night out! We really enjoyed ourselves...CHEERS!

Christmas 2006

THE EVE - we celebrated the Eve at the jalbuena/sumalings residence...we had plenty of food to eat...to much for me...afterwards, we both went to midnight mass at st. matthew's parish...

THE DAY - on this day we had our own christmas celebration in our home. it was our first christmas in our home and of course our first as husband and wife. family and friends came by and left.

We can't wait till next year, where we will be spending our holidays in Toronto...can't wait to spend it with my side of the family and friends...it would be nice and they are having such mild weather down there. TORONTO here we come!

King

we did it, we finally bought our long awaiting KING SIZE bed and let me tell ya...it feels sooo nice. we have more room to move around and i won't push Al off the bed anymore....we bought the base frame from Ikea...the other bed we wanted from Home Delight is long gone...so Ikea it is...the colour is black-brown with floating side tables on either side. I went to buy some king size sheets...which are light blue and a comforter which is chocolate brown...it looks very cozy and romantic! The mattress is a posturepedic sealy mattress...and we got it for a steal!

Now off we go to Peir one for the mood lighting...candles and more candles!

this is how BC looked like 3 weeks ago...(bottom pic.) this was our main road and (right side) the other pic. was our back yard...horrible! But not no more...all the snow is being melted and we are now having our normal weather back...RAIN! Gotta love this city!

overview

well, its been 12 days since we have been married and we are very happy that the stress is gone... we are truly blessed that the weather turned out PERFECT...it was a blessing from both our parents who were watching over us...we miss you both and love you forever!

all of our visitors have left except for 1 (she leaves this coming sunday) and we can finally get back to our normal life but as a newly married couple...we still have alot of cleaning to do and organization...also, we will continue to finish our basement since we were not able to have it complete before the wedding


there were sooo many things that we missed out on doing prior to the wedding but what the heck, it all turned out the way we wanted it to be...the only thing i would do over again is to have my 2 page written speech. i was sooo upset that i misplaced it and after the fact, i knew i left out mentioning ALOT of people...i hope you forgive us if your name was not mentioned. we do love you for your hard work and the preparation.

we are currently putting together ALL our pictures and will have them uploaded for your viewing.

NOW that the wedding is over, its now time to prepare for Christmas...Its just right around the corner but lucky for us, ALL of our shopping is DONE...this will be our first Chrsitmas in our new house and as a married couple...we really can't wait and we plan to make it BIG...

wedding sickness

It's clear to say that we have 9 more days until our BIG day....but...I am sick! Boo Hoo! How could this happen? Well, I am taking all necessary precautions for my sickness and making sure I become better before next week...I just hope and PRAY that I feel better.

The wedding plans are going as plan and this weekend I have some of the girls coming over to help with the remainder of littles things to do (giveaways, centerpeices, programs etc.)

We pretty much have everything on hand and hope we did not forget anything! Slowly I am getting nervous but I think as soon as my family comes over, I will be fine. The house is ready for all you travellers coming from far.

Something my sista' passed onto me...

So, I looked around my house to see all the things I started and hadn't finished,
and before leaving the house this morning,

I finished off a bottle of Merlot,
a bottle of White Zinfandel,
a bottle Bailey's Irish Cream,
a bottle of Kaluha,
a package of Oreos,
the remainder of my old Prozac prescription,
the rest of the cheesecake,
some Doritos and a box of chocolates.

You have no idea how f**king good I feel.

Another Bridal Shower

Today we headed off to the mall to get our finger sized for our rings...so far so good...it will be complete this week. Afterwards, Al says he needs to meet up with Michael at my aunts place. So we headed off to their place and loan and behold they had guests. But it was my guests. The party was a surprise bridal shower for me with all of the Tita's and Tito's...So nice to see them all. One of the Tita's said, it was a reunion since we never see everyone at one time unless there is a happy occasion. It was so nice to see all of them with of course some friends and my little friends Jaida, Maddy, Marcus, Jome Jome, Tally, Kiera & Sienna along side with Gary and Kathleen.

T-DOT

as some of you knew, i went to Toronto for the weekend. left Wednesday night and came back to BC this afternoon...i planned my whole visit to Toronto, but of course, it didn't turn out the way I wanted it to be...I was not able to see specific people that i wanted to see and was not able to go to the places i wanted to go...I was just pressed for time...but overall, my visit was great! I saw my family and my friends. On Friday evening my friends came to pick me up arounf 11ish..we headed out to an Amnesia Party downtown...they played the greatest music ever...back in the dayz old skool and classic house...let me tell you that this was a blast from the past! Afterwards, we went to eat for chinese food...then headed back to my hotel. Can you beleive that i got back to my room at 6 in the morning...oh my gawd, i can't remember the last time i did that...and to have to wake up for 9 in the morning to see my god-daughter...my eyes were blood shot red, had a hang over and was very tired!

Saturday evening we reserved to have dinner at this place called Autogrill. Fine dining Italian restaurant...Saw some of my friends that i have not seen since i left Toronto. It was good to see them again! Afterwards i headed back to my hotel. I was sooo tired that i didn't even go out...i slept the whole night through until the next morning.

It was good ol' times...will come and visit again...this time it will be with the husband!

NOTE: the guy standing behind me...he is not touching my boob...FYI...

Give Thanks

well the weekend is here and of course we can't forget about Thanksgiving...we have decided to have a romantic dinner alone in our new house...it will be our first Thanksgiving together in our house so it will be very nice. we, of course, have a turkey and all the fixin's...and we will have left overs for the whole week...well, we'll see how it goes...we both are on a diet...well, at least until after Thanksgiving! hahaha!

wedding stress

well, it's less than 2 months until our BIG day and boy, are we just stressed and exhausted...If we knew how much work was do be done for preparing a wedding, we might as well eloped...hehehe! But we both know that would not be right.

so far things are coming into place and hopefully we could finalize everything so that we can relax for the month of November until the day comes. we are now starting to buy our giveaways and centerpieces so that we can start putting them together and then get them out of the way. It's a good thing they are simple!

we really can't wait till this day is over so we may have our life back to normal. You should see our place, papers everywhere and on the wall...Al has decided to paste them on the wall so that I can see them and take care of it.....but in all honesty, he is doing his part in preparing for this BIG day of ours. You know what they say, its suppose to be the brides day, w-r-o-n-g...its AL'S Day! hahaha!

we can't wait for this day and hopefully all of you have submitted your RSVP's in the mail. It really makes it a lot easier for us.

AWESOME show! went to watch Rex Navarrette LIVE in Massey Theatre with Ton, Kara, Joseph & Maricor...saw Mel & Nick, Jeric and Marites...The show started of with some dancers that performed...they were great!

The opening act was a comedian based in Vancouver, Chris Casilian...then afterwards REX came out to do his act. This was a must see show and was glad we went to see him...i laughed so hard i thought i peed my pants...

will watch him again when he comes back!

went to the MARIAH CAREY concert. it was awesome and NO she didn't change 10 times...only 4 times or maybe 5 times....anyhow, she sang all of her NO# 1 hits starting from her very first album "Music Box", "Daydream", "Butterfly" up to "The Emancipation of Mimi"...



Also, in act was her opening crew Busta Rhymes also promoting their new album "The Big Bang" they were a hit as well playing their hits from back in the dayz like "Put your hands where my eyes could see".

Having to hear all the songs, it was a blast from the past!

a new beginning

i received an email from my best friend today...i have been trying to email her with all sorts of stuff for the wedding and finally she responded and in her email she had told me that because she did not respond to any emails is because she bought a house...WOW...good for you Chel...i am so happy for her...Rachel aka Chel has been my friend forever...since we were in our early teens...we went through alot and even though we are miles away we seem to always keep eachother posted with everything in our lives....Congratulations again, CHEL and miss you this much! I told you...day by day and we will succeed! Send me pictures and hopefully we will see you this Christmas holidays!!!

Treasure Chest

today maricor threw me a bridal treasure chest shower...i really was not expecting this and boy, it was great! during the day, i had made plans with Al to do some wedding preps and all that stuff...it was not like of Al to be so nice to me when i wanted to go somewhere to check something out...he would always nag about how long i would take but today was diffrent...he was very patient with me...hmmmmm...anyhow, we went by the Copon's place to visit cause we always try to do our rounds of visiting the little ones during the weekend...as i walked up the stairs i walked in the kitchen with a BIG surprise...the girls all there waiting for me as i walked in...i was speechless...the first thing that came out of my mouth was "yeah right" hahaha! there were lots and lots of food to eat and of course Maricor's specialty Sangria...(sorry recipe is not available) more girls arrived later...THEN, there was Laska, the treasure chest lady...hehehe! LOTS and LOTS of toys to play with...Let's just say, there were big, small, rough, smooth items and there were some that had some flavour...i liked the pop candies they had...(i would put the pics. up but unfortunately my young cousins, neices and nephews look at this sight so instead i will email you the pics. sorry ladies!)

Ladies, you are the greatest, thanks for taking the time to be there and for the lovely gifts you have given me...i am pretty much complete with the accessories i would need for the big day from the gifts you have all given me...i just need to buy one more thing and Noella i will use it with the gift you gave me to purchase it...i also want to say thanks for the treasure chest fund donation money...I have bought some interesting things that i know Al will enjoy...Mare, thank you again from the bottom of my heart!

The Sumaling's Summer Bash

it was a hot summer day and what way to kick off the end of summer than to have a back to school summer bash at the Sumaling's...Marcus and Madisyn invited all of their close friends, neighbours, their parents co-workers and cousins to their party. it was pot luck so the parents brought a small dish for everyone to enjoy while the Sumaling's provided the bbq hot dogs and hamburgers. the party kicked it up a notch with the presence of Korki the clown...she made swords, elmo, little mermaids, flowers etc. for all the kids!

the sumaling's provided the monster's inc. rock climbing slide and the incredibles bouncing cage. the kids REALLY loved that...

overall, the party was a success with lots of food and lots of things for the kids to do...we hope that the Sumaling's will do this next year and every year after that as a tradition Sumaling Summer Bash!!!

SURPRISE...

ED thought it would be a good idea to throw Ming a surprise b-day...attended the event at his mom's place and waited for the couple to arrive...Of course, when you say 5PM, it really means 6PM...As Ming walked though the door she noticed a sign on the wall that said "SURPRISE & HAPPY BIRTHDAY"...she then thought something was not right..she walked up the steps to be startled by the group of us wishing her a Happy Birthday!!! All the best Ming and many more surprises to come BUT next time tell Ed to place the sign somewhere else!
